Blue Danube Express (stylized as BDex, IATA: B8, ICAO: BDX, Callsign: BLUEDANUBE) is a regional airline headquartered in Graz, Austria. The airline operates scheduled services across Central Europe using a single Embraer E175 aircraft. BDex focuses on connecting underserved regional airports in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, northern Italy, and the Balkans.

History

Blue Danube Express was founded in 2013 with the goal of offering high-quality regional air service from Styria, Austria’s southeastern province. The airline was conceived in response to the lack of direct air connections between smaller Central European cities and major regional hubs.

After acquiring an Embraer E175 in late 2014, BDex launched commercial operations in April 2015, initially connecting Graz with Zurich, Vienna and Brussels. The airline quickly established a niche for offering high-frequency, short-haul services with a focus on premium comfort, punctuality, and scenic destinations.
